I originally had my first appointment via Teams video call with Psychiatrist Dr Lee Kumalo. I was really nervous about this call and didn’t know what to expect. However I was put right at ease and felt really comfortable speaking to him. I didn’t feel judged or feel stupid when I couldn’t explain things properly. He listened and helped me to explain what I was feeling and experiencing. When the titration process started I was in contact with Denise Bromilow, ADHD Specialist and Independent Prescriber via the online portal. She was very thorough with her review of her I was getting on with the medication and gave great advise. If I ever had any questions she replied sooo quickly. At the end of the process I had a phone call with her to have a final review. She was so lovely and I felt really comfortable speaking with her. She really cares about her patients and I felt really looked after throughout this process. I could not recommend this service any more. Thank you!

I have had a very good experience with Psychiatry-UK. I actually felt listened to and understood for the first time. Everything was explained clearly, especially with regard to medication. Would definitely recommend them.

Got my appointment on schedule and was titrated sooner than expected. Zak Moussa, my titration nurse, has been fantastic. He's listened to everything I've said, given me advice, and never dismissed anything. Zak answered all my questions in detail, even about ADHD, not just medication. He made me feel listened to, which as someone who has seen a lot of doctors and consultants about various things, is quite rare. Anyone who gets Zak as their prescriber is lucky!

The process from being referred was a lot quicker than what my GP had told me which was very nice. From being diagnosed, I have actually only spoken to one person, and this was for my diagnosis which took around an hour. It does seem a lot shorter than how others are diagnosed with ADHD but I do feel positive that I have it, as you obviously have to fit a certain criteria to even be referred. One thing I will say to anyone who is going through the journey of being diagnosed with ADHD and has chosen medication is to PLEASE stop looking online on platforms that almost glorify this. The medication videos where people feel 'instantly' better. Titration is NOT easy, at least it wasn't for me. So please don't feel like you are going to have the same experiences as someone else online who wants views. It's really hard mentally, especially for those who have anxiety and/or depression as it did really heighten my symptoms. I have gotten to a dose which works well for me and I am glad to have gotten to this place. Take it at your own pace, have no expectations. At one point I thought the medication alone was making me feel horrid, jittery, talkative, on edge. It was actually my caffeine consumption paired with a dose that was too high. Just be mindful about your lifestyle before immediately thinking it is the medication alone. Even on the correct dose, I cannot tolerate it. I feel settled on my dose and have had good communication from my prescriber. Overall positive, these are all the things I took from it though.

I'm so happy to have trusted Psychiatry UK with my ADHD care over the last 4 years, and I hope this will continue. To this day, they continue to care for me, and provide me with all the support I need. I know they are always one message away, which brings me great peace of mind. They always seem to find ways to improve their services, which I appreciate.

This system does not work. You cannot have meaningful therapeutic relationships with neurodivergent/mental health patients through the constraints of a messaging portal. It just does not enable meaningful therapeutic relationships to be built. I did not trust the system, and I did not trust the practitioners. Throughout my care there were major contradictions in what was being said and done. I felt gaslit. I felt like I was just a number. I did not feel like the service had my best interests at heart. I have been unable to find details of their complaints procedure online. I am still waiting for closure.
